While designing the navigation, I sought to avoid the standard left/top tabbed menu. My idea was to use an electronic device's visual representation of sound, the equalizer read-out, as a navigation metaphor. I created a series of buttons across the bottom of the screen that, when rolled over, revealed a series of choices that sprang up like the LED bricks that stacked upon each other in an equalizer.

This nesting of options was an elegant way to reveal the depth of a site's contents only when the user shows an interest in a particular category. When clicked, the buttons utter a satisfying "bloop" and the equalizer bars climb to create a page transition from one screen to the next.
